Biphoo has long been the trusted resource for digital, products and services that promote the well-being of dogs and enrich the lives of their owners. The candidate will be charged with establishing the voice and direction of content for Biphoo web properties. The content editor will be expected to oversee the execution of all content. This person should be well versed in dog ownership and have an insatiable drive for breaking stories and finding unique ways to talk about issues trending around the internet.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage 3 direct reports; two editors and video production intern
• Responsible for executing content strategy
• Set strategy and execution for content syndication
• Oversee video production efforts both internally and through external agencies
• Analyzing website and traffic analytics and identify opportunities to optimize content, user experience and keyword
• ranking and website engagement
• Employ strong project management skills including the ability to independently manage multiple projects and complete projects to schedule

Position Requirements

• Degree in journalism, English, marketing, digital media, or related field preferred
• Experience in editing native content and writing for SEO
• Minimum 5 years’ experience blogging, writing or editing in a newsroom or team environment with attention to detail and deadlines
• Expert-level knowledge of AP Style, grammar, and punctuation rules
• Knowledge of publishing workflows, social distribution methods, and content strategies.
• Background in video production a plus
