Person Struck by Metro Train; No Metro Service Between Branch Avenue, Southern Avenue : A person was struck by a train outside the Suitland Metro station about 5:10 a.m. Wednesday. His or her condition is unknown.
Metro train service is suspended between Branch Avenue and Southern Avenue, WMATA said. There is no service at the stations between them, Naylor Road and Suitland.

Shuttle bus service is available, but riders should expect delays in both directions, Metro said.
Early-morning commuters at the Suitland station were told to leave the station and take shuttle buses instead.
Metro officials said they are trying to determine why the person was on the tracks. The train that hit the person did not have any passengers on it.
WMATA has listed the following Metrobus alternatives:
At Suitland Road: P12 to Addison Road/Southern Avenue; D12 to Southern Avenue; K12 to Branch Avenue
At Naylor Road: 30N, 34, 36, 39 to Eastern Market/Archives; F14 to Addison Road/Capitol Heights
At Southern Avenue: 30S to Eastern Market/Archives/Tenleytown; 32 to Eastern Market/Foggy Bottmm; A2 to Anacostia; P12 to Addison Road
