Illinois doctor admits dispensing opioids for cash, sex:- A northern Illinois doctor has pleaded guilty to charges he illegally gave medication including opioids to patients in exchange for sex or cash.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago said Monday that 66-year-old Constantino Perales of Peru, Illinois, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with the intent to distribute. The crime is punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
Perales admitted he dispensed opioids and other drugs to three patients in exchange for sex between 2011 and 2013. The plea agreement states Perales knew the patients were addicted to the pills.
Perales also admitted he prescribed drugs to a man from Sandwich, Illinois, in 2013 knowing the man would sell the pills illegally.
