Graham calls for special counsel to prove Clinton on Russia ties:- Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham said Sunday the Justice Department should appoint another special counsel to investigate Hillary Clinton for her Russian ties.
“I think we need a special counsel to investigate the Fusion GPS episode between the Democratic Party, Mr. Steele and Russian operatives,” Graham (R-SC) told “Fox News Sunday.”
He was referring to the Democratic Party dollars used to fund a dossier from former British spy Christopher Steele that contains unsubstantiated claims about President Trump’s connection to Russian officials.
Graham also wants a criminal probe into whether Russian money helped grease an Obama administration deal that gave Moscow a financial stake in US uranium production.
“I think we need a special counsel to investigate the Uranium One episode where thousands of dollars were given to the Clinton Global Fund and to former President Bill Clinton from groups tied to Russia,” he said.
Clinton said the claims are a tactic to distract from special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe.
