‘The Voice’: Billy Gilman Returns To Country Roots With Martina McBride Classic

Billy Gilman, 28, just keeps proving that he deserves to get his spot back on the charts! The former child country prodigy sang a stunning rendition of Martina McBride’s song “Anyway” on the Nov. 28 episode of The Voice, and we STILL have goosebumps!
The singer sounded amazing surrounded by a full band, and looked awesome rocking a sexy leather-detailed blazer. We were stunned by all of Billy’s amazing vocal runs and impressive high notes, and he seemed pretty proud of himself, too!
It was awesome to hear Billy go back to his country roots after his Top 11 performance of Adele’s “All I Ask,” one week before, and he even gave us a little hint that it might be happening! He told to a news source that he wasn’t interested in ever performing his old hit “One Voice,” but that a country ballad might be short. “You’re going to have to tune in next week! If I make it…” he told us on Nov. 22. Thank goodness he did!
Of course, The Voice is a second chance at having a music career for Billy. He rose to stardom at just 11 years old, when he signed to Epic Records in Nashville and released his hit “One Voice” that rose through the charts. We hope to see him there again soon, once he makes it to the end of The Voice!
