The Best Celebrity Weddings of 2016

The Best Celebrity Weddings of 2016:- As rough a year as it was for celeb marriages — we’re still mourning over the Brangelina breakup and Lady Gaga’s split with Taylor Kinney — the year 2016 also brought a lot of famous couples together in holy matrimony. Just in the last month, Michael Phelps shared with the world that he had secretly tied the knot to his longtime love Nicole Johnson over the summer, and of course who can forget former Glee star Becca Tobin’s recent emotional Wyoming nuptials (and killer honeymoon pics!).

No doubt there are too many events to count, but someone’s gotta try. So while we’re celebrating the best of 2016 in every way possible, let’s take a look at our favorite celebrity weddings of 2016 that were filled with romance, fashion, and to-die-for venues — all in the name of love.

Macie Bookout and Taylor McKinney
The newlyweds exchanged vows at Florida’s Honey Lake Resort where the OG Teen Mom star wore a Riki Dalal Haute Couture wedding dress, holding a colorful bouquet of burgundy and peach peonies. Before she headed down the aisle, she got ready with ‘maids in custom flannel shirts sporting the embroidered words “Mrs. T Money” on her flannel (duh). Her bridesmaids donned custom Watters’ gowns in a brand new French Blue hue. The newlyweds followed the trend of 2016 and enjoyed a delicious single-tier cake and a slew of glazed doughnuts.

Audrina Partridge and Corey Bohan
Audrina Patridge wed her BMX rider Corey Bohan in Kauai, Hawaii, on November 5, 2016 in a magical ceremony — with the bride wearing a beach-chic wedding dress. And if you don’t want to take our word for it… “Our wedding was magical,” Partridge gushed to Us Weekly about her wedding. “We had all of our friends and family in one place to celebrate!” On Saturday, November 5, the wedding party took over the Hawaiian island of Kauai, where Bohen and Patridge said their vows amongst the sand and surf in an outdoor ceremony. The bride walked down the aisle in a Pallas Couture lace and tulle wedding dress, to a wooden arch drenched in lush red and white blooms where her groom was waiting (in a snazzy white button-down and suspenders!). After their touching ceremony, guests showered them in flower petals. It was clear that flowers were the central theme for this Boho-inspired celebration. “I wanted my wedding to be super romantic with a bohemian feel,” explained the former Laguna Beach star. “And it was the perfect mix of the two of us.” Guests dined and danced under floral chandeliers, and the two walked off into the sunset (literally) and took the most stunning of beachfront photos.

Kym Johnson and Robert Herjavec
Dancing with the Stars pro Kym Johnson married Shark Tank Robert Herjavec on July 31 at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills after appearing together on Season 20 of the reality show. The pair (who were partners on the show) fell madly in love and got engaged. They tied the knot five short months later, with Johnson wearing a classic strapless Monique Lhuillier ballgown with a tiered skirt. Johnson walked down the aisle with both of her parents in tow, clutching a bouquet of white blooms as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” played in the background. “I hope I can speak and that I’m not sobbing with happiness,” the bride said ahead of the big day to People. “I’m sure I’ll be overcome with emotion.”

Ciara and Russel Wilson
The rumors were swirling about an engagement, and then finally—surprise! Ciara and Russel Wilson were engaged (and the 30-year-old singer debuted the most ginormous 16-carat ring from the 27-year-old pro-footballer). Three months later, the superstar duo tied the knot at the majestic Peckforton Castle in Chesire, England. The couple shared the first photo of their wedding on both of their Instagrams captioned “We are The Wilsons!” with Ciara in a custom lace dress (complete with bell sleeves) designed by Roberto Cavalli. In the photo, the drop-dead gorg duo are walking up the aisle hand-in-hand in the flower-decorated church. The British castle wedding venue was put on the map by several English soccer stars’ weddings and boasts 36,000 acres of land and guest accommodations with over 48 bedrooms. It has also been used as a location for various television and movie productions including Doctor Who, Sherlock Holmes, and The Real Housewives of Cheshire. But that’s not all — Wilson and Ciara announced in October that they’re expecting, so it’s safe to say 2016 has been quite a year for this power couple.

Becca Tobin and Zach Martin
On Saturday, December 3, in Wyoming, Becca Tobin and Zach Martin said “I do” in front of their nearest and dearest family and friends (including a handful of former Glee stars!). The happy day took place the Amangani in Jackson Hole, and let us not forget that Tobin’s former Glee costar (and infamous McKinley High coach) Jane Lynch was the ceremony officiant. Just too perfect! And speaking of perfect, Tobin wore a beautiful gown created by Odylyne the Ceremony. “The dress was a dream come true,” Tobin told BRIDES. “I worked with the designer and the owner of my favorite bridal boutique, Loho, to create it. I didn’t want to take it off!” While the couple kept their ceremony traditional, they did break the traditional mold of a wedding cake — and replaced them with a fun wedding trend: doughnuts! “We are both obsessed with donuts, so we decided to do a donut tower instead of a traditional cake,” said Tobin. “Big hit!” After their wedding, the lovebirds jetted off to Mauritius and South Africa for an exotic honeymoon, and we’ve been FOMO-ing on Insta ever since.

Mr & Mrs HART!!!!! In Love & Loving it!!!! #Married #DopePic

Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish
After a two-year engagement, funnyman Kevin Hart and his beautiful bride Eniko Parrish wed in a Santa Barbara, California ceremony on August 13, 2016, in the evening. “I honestly can say that I’m lucky enough to have an amazing woman,” Hart told Us Weekly ahead of the big day. “I’m looking forward to getting married. We got seven years under our belt, been engaged for two. It’s time.” And the time finally arrived! For the big day, Parrish donned a custom Vera Wang mermaid wedding dress with a tulle skirt, sheer bodice, and French Chantilly lace appliqués while Hart kept things classic in a traditional black tux. And to make you feel all the feelings, Hart’s eight-year-old son Hendrix, whom he shares with his ex-wife Torrei Hart, was the best man. His daughter Heaven was also in attendance, matching the bride in a white cocktail dress accessorized with a flower crown. After their vow exchange, the newlyweds had a photoshoot in a white gazebo draped in greenery, with their reception venue adorned with wooden tables and chairs as well as white blooms and crystal chandeliers. Even though the wedding reception itself might sound utterly amazing, the after-party is what truly took it to the next level: The couple included an actual ferris wheel and a merry-go-round (according to a Snapchat video posted by the bride).

My best friend…. I love you!!

Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson
In a surprising turn of events, Olympian Michael Phelps and his longtime sweetheart Nicole Johnson revealed to the world that they had tied the knot on June 13 in a small and intimate ceremony in Arizona. This all went down before the family headed to Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Reportedly, the secret ceremony took place in Paradise Valley, with the groom’s close friend and agent, Peter Carlisle, officiating. “I’ve been married for a while,” Phelps finally admitted during a recent Facebook Live video to his fans around Halloween. “I had to keep it a secret from y’all. I had to keep it hush-hush from you guys. But Nicole and I are married. We are officially married and now we are getting the chance to kind of kick it and hang out.” And with the cat officially out of the bag, the newlyweds celebrated their married status with a second ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The wedding took place outdoors in a totally dreamy seaside spot with palm trees and the sun shining overhead. And if the space wasn’t already beautiful enough, the aisle was lined with white flower petals and a ceremony arch teeming with greenery can be seen in the background. Keep an eye out for an exclusive peek of their nuptials, coming to BRIDES soon!

Eva Longoria and José Baston
When Eva Longoria and media mogul José Baston said said “I do” in front of 200 guests in Valle de Bravo, Mexico, she wore her hair down and rocked a sleeveless fit-and-flare white wedding dress with a sweetheart neckline. Her groom wore a gray suit and sources say the ceremony was “very romantic” as they “married on an altar under lots of little lights.” Apparently the bride was smiling throughout the ceremony, as she’s clearly smitten with her new groom. And while the actress didn’t post any wedding photos to Instagram herself, we did happen to find a few snaps of the super private nuptials on the social media site (thanks Mario Lopez!). In addition, the star-studded guest list including David and Victoria Beckham, Penelope Cruz, Ricky Martin, and Katy Perry, just to name a few.

Anna Camp and Skylar Astin
Talk about an acca-awesome wedding! The Pitch Perfect co-stars said “I do” on September 10, 2016 in front of their closest family and friends. After meeting on the set of the 2013 film, the couple began dating. While ringing in the New Year on vacation this year, Astin popped the question with a champagne-hued cushion-cut diamond. “He asked. I said YES!!!!” Camp captioned her engagement ring selfie, revealing her new bling. On the big day, Camp wore a Reem Acra wedding dress for her outdoor ceremony, with a sweetheart neckline and a tulle ballgown, accented with lace appliqué. She accessorized the wedding-worthy look with Imagine Vince Camuto heels, Neil Lane bridal jewelry, and — once she and her sweetheart said their vows — a Lorraine Schwartz wedding band. Meanwhile, the groom looked dashing in a traditional black tux from Ermenegildo Zegna, and the bridal party — featuring none other than Pitch Perfect star Brittany Snow — wore mismatched pale pink bridesmaid dresses by Theia.

Derek Jeter and Hannah Davis
Retired New York Yankees baseball player Derek Jeter married supermodel Hannah Davis on July 9, 2016 at the Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena, California. The good-looking duo tied the knot in an intimate celebration of less than 100 family and friends (after Jeter proposed with a jaw-dropping six-carat round-cut diamond). The bride wore a high neck dress with a tulle veil, with a classic chignon. Meanwhile, Jeter exchanged his Yankees uniform and baseball cleats for a traditional black suit. The ceremony lasted a quick 20 minutes — with Davis holiding a bouquet of lush white blooms. “After the ceremony, they walked around holding hands and looking ecstatic,” a sourced shared. A few of the groom’s former fellow Yankees were in attendance, like Jorge Posada, Andruw Jones and Tino Martinez.
