On Saturday July 8th, Shia LaBeouf was taken in custody at around 4 a.m. on charges of obstruction, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He was released shortly after from the Chatham County Detention Center having posted a $7,000 bond.
According to Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department, LaBeouf approached a civilian and a police officer to ask for a cigarette. When denied one he began to shout profanities and vulgar language.
Immediately, he was asked to leave but refused and became aggressive towards the officer. The officer attempted to place LaBeouf under arrest but LaBeouf ran to a nearby hotel, where he was soon arrested in the lobby.
LaBeouf’s publicist and manager have yet to make a comment about the incident.
The actor is currently in Savannah filming a movie, “The Peanut Butter Falcon,” with Dakota Johnson and Bruce Dern.
You’d think with his past of drunken brushes with the law, LaBeouf would have chosen to skip out on the drinks that led to the incident, considering he was arrested for public intoxication back in 2015 and then again for a DUI in 2008, he also pleaded guilty for disorderly conduct after disrupting a Broadway theater in 2014.
Only recently LaBeouf was arrested on misdemeanor assault and harassment charges during his Anti-Trump protest.
Following his 2014 arrest, his rep told PEOPLE magazine that LaBeouf was “voluntarily receiving treatment for alcohol addiction.”
We truly wonder what happened to that, did he ever complete his treatment or saw the statement just an attempt to win back his public sympathy and reputation.
With Shia’s history we are truly unsure of anything that happens to him at this point, lets just all hope him the best in his hopeful attempt to put aside his drinking and focus on his career, especially after the flop that his last movie, “Man Down.”
