Local growing manufacturer with multiple locations seeks HR Generalist for an Eastern Kentucky plant location. This position will handle employee relations, benefits administration, safety and training for the plant.
Highlighted Duties:
Advise and coordinate with remote HR staff and management in areas of employee relations, compensation, benefits and training strategies.
Prepare or maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
Assist in selection of temporary labor agencies and facilitates productive relationship. Provide guidance regarding utilization and hiring of temporary team members
Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Schedule and conduct new employee orientations.
Recommend training needs for plant and assist in coordinating events
Creates and maintains annual training plan and reports on progress to Plant Manager and VP of HR.
Provides reports, scorecards, research, and benchmark data for planning purposes and as measurements of progress.
Will act as Safety Coordinator for the facility providing training and organizing safety committee.
MUST be able to work a swing shift once per week in order to provide support to 2nd shift employees.
Highlighted Requirements:
Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred, PHR preferred.
3+ years professional experience in HR for manufacturing environment
Must have at least 2 years handling benefits administration, recruiting, safety and employee relations
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Hands-on experience with HRIS systems such as SAP, Oracle, or PeopleSoft
Record of success in design and facilitation of training programs.
Excellent interpersonal/communication (verbal and nonverbal) skills as well as analytical skills.
Must possess high level of professionalism, ethics and confidentiality.
Strong knowledge of HR practices, procedures and employment related local, state and federal laws.
