OVERVIEW
Up for sale is the legendary 1980 Kawasaki Z1-R, known in the encyclopedia of motorcycles as,
KING OF THE SUPER BIKES!
It is known as the fastest production motorcycle of the era.
This is a GREAT bike that runs FANTASTIC.
This bike has only 25,992 original miles.
All electronics work with the exception of the gas gauge (needs a new sending unit)
& the high/low beam headlight switch.
It does have quite a few enhancements of which are : 29mm Mikuni smoothbore carbs, K&N pod air filters, Dyna III ignition plate & coils, 4 into 1 Kerker header.
The tires, brakes, chain & sprockets, cables, ect... all have less than a few 100 miles on them.
I had the bike professionally painted over the winter. All it needs to finish restoration is to have the frame sandblasted & powder coated, the engine repainted & some detailing.
The bike also comes with several misc. extra parts.
The Kawasaki KZ1000 Z1R was the brainchild of Wayne Moulton, known as the "Father of the Japanese Cruiser" Considered the godfather of Japanese Sport bike. The Z1-R was a favorite at drag strips and was the first bike to break the 12-second quarter mile. It was also the first Japanese bike to come with a fairing.
