WORKSHOP TOPICS: LESSON 1: Technology Meets Creativity. Tour CRISP RECORDING STUDIO, a state-of-the-art, full service audio/video production facility. Meet the recording artist, establishing his/her needs and goals. LESSON 2: Mic Primer & Selection. Practical discussion of essential microphone knowledge, cardiod patterns, the fundamentals of microphones and offer insights in how to best use them for studio recording, for superior results. LESSON 3: Studio Technique & Essential Engineering. Sound testing, track layout, vocal comping (if available), signal flow� �mic to music,� playback, student hands-on recording on board, artist interaction and adjustments. LESSON 4: Anatomy of the Mix, Edit & Mastering. Track playback with artist, over dubs, patches, solos, mix down and editing, PRO-TOOLS 8 basics, effects, mastering & final burn to CD.
