Social Media Marketing for restaurants adding social media to your marketing mix can hugely increase awareness about your restaurant, generate motivated engagement with your food, and get you more customers in your door.
Social Media Marketing for Restaurants
The 4 Most Important Social Networks for Restaurants It seems that every few months, there’s some new fad social media network springing up out of nowhere. Now, businesses are cultivating social media accounts into the double digits. That’s fine and dandy, but you, the hard-working the best cheap new york restaurants owner, don’t have time for that! Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook… which ones are really important to your business? The truth is, all of them have their benefits.
At the same time, some definitely go a whole lot further than others. If you’re busy and don’t have the budget for a dedicated marketing manager to handle the full spectrum of social media, there are really four big ones I recommend you stick to Facebook, Facebook has become so ubiquitous that at this point it’s near impossible for it not to be the number one most important social network in your digital marketing.
Almost everyone has a Facebook account, so it’s a great way for you to reach a lot of eyes with the relatively minimal effort. On top of that, it’s probably the easiest and most effective way to have your restaurant’s popularity spread by word of mouth. People trust their friends’ recommendations and tastes (for the most part… I know we all have some pretty notable exceptions there!) and Facebook is a big delivery system for that sort of information.
Most of them probably won’t care enough to stop and check out where MJ and Peter are having their date, but some of them will, and some will start to take interest when they start to see this sort of status pop up over and over again. On top of that, Facebook is probably the most effective way to get in touch with your customer base over day-to-day issues and events — like sales, specials, menu updates, or even irregular hours/closings.

Most people are rarely far from their phones and browse their Facebook feeds multiple times a day. A simple status update can reach an audience far faster than an email or website update will. Instagram I’m of the occasionally-controversial opinion that some social media sites, particularly Instagram and Twitter, are largely unnecessary to most business’s marketing strategies. The NYC restaurants view, however, are one of my few exceptions to this opinion.
Arguably the most important aspect of drawing someone into your new york restaurants and business is tempting them with your no-doubt-delicious food — and there is nothing that inspires temptation more than a beautifully shot picture of some seriously tasty-looking grub. Instagram is a perfect medium for this. Some attractive “food porn” is an easy way to motivate people to come into your restaurant. I will caution, though, that this is definitely one of those things that you either have to do well or not do at all.
Blurry, low quality, pixelated, poorly lit, or unflattering photos aren’t going to do anything but hurt your professional restaurant from New york and turn people off of your food. But I’m willing to bend the rules here to talk about what is undeniably one of the most important websites for your best new york restaurants and bar. I’m not a huge fan of Yelp as a company. They have some shady business practices and a history of doing some pretty sketchy things, including more or less blackmailing businesses that refuse to advertise with them.
Yuck! This isn’t everyone’s experience, and plenty of business owners report no issues with Yelp whatsoever. I mention it, however, just to make you aware. I definitely don’t expect you to ban Yelp entirely, because doing so would be basically impossible. Whether you want it or not, people will review you on Yelp, and it’s up to you whether you want to cover your eyes and ignore it or do your best to work with a flawed system (hint: the latter is a better approach). So, here’s my philosophy when it comes to Yelp: do what you can with your free business account.
Definitely respond to negative new york restaurants reviews in a polite and intelligent way. You can’t remove negative reviews (nor should you be able to, in my opinion), but responding to them well will definitely lessen their impact on your new potential patrons. You know when you Google the new york restaurants affordable, or any other sort of business, and a big box pops up on the right hand side of the results with a map, the business hours, reviews, and maybe a picture or two? That’s Google My Business, and it’s a huge benefit to you.
It costs nothing to create an account, though you do need to wait to receive a verification code in the mail before you’ll be featured in Google searches. You can also respond to your reviews, post updates, and customize your page. Despite Google+’s general lack of popularity, because of how prominently Google features your My Business page in searches, there will undoubtedly be lots of eyes on it. It’s definitely a terrific way to immediately get in front of potential patron’s eyes, or provide helpful information to recurring customers.
There you have it!Hopefully, you will one day have an employee or contractor dedicated to fully managing your online marketing presence, and you won’t be limited by time constraints. For the time being, however, I think these four are excellent places to start, and probably the ones that can make the biggest positive impact on your top new york restaurants.
