Cory Anthony Booker (Born. April 27, 1969, in Washington, D.C) is a U.S. Senator, representing the state of New Jersey. He won a special election to replace Frank Lautenberg, who died in June 2013. He was the first black man to be elected to the Senate since Barack Obama in 2004.
In 2014, Booker won re-election to the U.S. Senate from New Jersey, defeating Republican Jeff Bell and five other candidates. He ran uncontested for the Democratic nomination in the primary on June 3, 2014.
