Conor McGregor Jumps the Cage, Shoves Referee at Bellator 187
Conor McGregor Jumps the Cage, Shoves Referee at Bellator 187:-Conor McGregor and Marc Goddard are making a late run at MMA’s best rivalry in 2017.
Bellator 187 took place on Friday at 3Arena in Dublin. On the bill was Charlie Ward, McGregor’s teammate, taking on John Redmond.
At the end of the first round, after Ward dropped Redmond with a left hook, McGregor scaled the cage to celebrate with Ward who had seemingly vanquished his foe. However, Goddard pulled McGregor off Ward.
McGregor went ballistic and then shoved Goddard. He had to be restrained.
After exiting the cage, McGregor decided he was not finished with his thoughts regarding the situation (Warning: NSFW language).
This is the second time in less than a month the two have been involved in a cageside kerfuffle. At UFC Fight Night 118 in Gdansk, Poland, McGregor tried to give instructions to Artem Lobov but was not an official cornerman. Goddard sent McGregor away.
It’s unclear what repercussions McGregor may face for the incident. McGregor was not a licensed participant for the event as a cornerman, entered the cage and put his hands on an official. A most definite no-no that usually draws fines and/or a suspension of some sort.
Ward officially got the win at 4:59 of the first round by knockout, but that certainly will no longer be the focus after the wild antics from his teammate.
