Halle Berry makes light of divorce history:- Actress Halle Berry has poked fun at her poor marriage history in a candid chat on U.S. TV.
The Swordfish star sat down for an interview on breakfast show Good Morning America on Thursday (03Aug17) to promote her new thriller Kidnap, in which she plays a desperate single mother determined to track down the culprits who snatched her young son.
Halle, who finalized her divorce from her third husband, French actor Olivier Martinez, last year (16), admitted she was excited to portray a strong woman who “saves the day” onscreen.
“It’s a lot of tension and it’s action, action, but at the end of the day, this mum (in the movie) saves the day, and it’s so rewarding to see how a woman would do it,” she said, before making a quip about her failed relationships in real life.
“I know men save the day all the time, and we love you for it,” she smiled. “I mean, I love men too, I’ve been divorced three times, you know I do! But it’s nice to see a woman save the day the way we do it with our female sensibilities.”
The Oscar winner, who celebrates her 51st birthday on 14 August (17), was also previously married to former baseball player David Justice from 1993 to 1997, and singer Eric Benet, from 2001 to 2005.
She is a mother of two, sharing three-year-old son Maceo with Olivier, her husband of three years, and nine-year-old daughter Nahla with model Gabriel Aubry, who she dated for just over four years until 2010.
Earlier this year (17), Halle opened up about her many heartbreaks, admitting it’s been a tough few years.
“I have learned to deal with three failed marriages, which has not been easy, especially when there’s children involved,” she said during a keynote speech at the 2017 City Summit and Gala in Los Angeles.
