2 D.C. police officers shot, suspect killed:- Two District of Columbia police officers were wounded and a suspect was killed in a shooting in Northeast D.C. on Thursday night, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The officers were shot around 10:40 p.m. ET at Morse Street at Holbrooke Street, less than two miles from the U.S. Capitol.
The two officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Chief Peter Newsham said in a late-night press conference.
Both officers were conscious and taken to MedStar Washington Hospital Center. One officer was shot in the leg and the other officer was shot in the torso, police said.
The suspect's gun was recovered at this scene, police said. It was unclear who shot first.
