Tonsil Infection?

I have been sick for about 3 weeks now. Low grade fever (95-101), coughing a lot with stuff coming up (some have a little blood), my throat is killing me, i'm having a lot of trouble breathing (i'm also asthmatic), and I have been feeling really tired lately and sleeping a lot more, and I haven't been hungry. I went to the doctor about a week ago and he said I have a lung infection, gave me a lodacane rinse for my throat. He gave me the discharge paper and prescription and left. He had only listened, no x-ray or anything, then when I looked at my discharge paper it said it was for tonsillitis. I was told it would be better in a week and it has only gotten worse. I can't afford to go to the doctor again, but I found that hot tea and honey helps. So I've been living off that and soup. Can any one give me some advice because my voice is just about gone because it hurts so bad to even talk. (I have used symbicort and ventalin inhalers, and a nebulizer and nothing has helped with my breathing). Please help.
